Mindful Caregiving

Are you a caregiver feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or burnt out?  Join our supportive online community for a monthly "Lunch & Learn" workshop designed to provide you with practical tools and strategies to enhance your mental well-being.

Who is a caregiver? If you provide support to a family member, friend, or neighbor of any age with a physical or mental health condition, you're a caregiver. This could include caring for a child with special needs, an aging parent, a spouse with a chronic illness, or someone recovering from an injury.

What to Expect:

Each month, Heidi Olson will guide you in a different topic related to caregiver mental health, including:

  • Self-Compassion & Resilience: Learn practical exercises to cultivate self-compassion and build resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Mindfulness in Daily Life: Discover simple mindfulness techniques you can incorporate into your daily routine to reduce stress and find moments of peace.
  • Managing Challenging Emotions: Develop effective strategies for coping with anxiety, grief, and frustration that often accompany caregiving.
  • Effective Communication: Improve your communication skills to navigate difficult conversations with loved ones, medical professionals, and support networks.
  • Building a Support System: Learn how to connect with other caregivers and access valuable resources in your community.
  • Self-Care Strategies: Prioritize your well-being and create a personalized self-care plan to prevent burnout and enhance your overall quality of life.

Join us on the Third Monday of every month from 12-1pm ET. Connect with fellow caregivers, share experiences, and learn valuable skills to help you thrive in your caregiving journey. $10 per session or Pay-What-You-Can.

The Confluence: An Epic TTRPG Event

Join us for a unique, collaborative storytelling adventure where every choice matters and every voice is heard.

Super Rad and Creekside Therapeutics are teaming up to bring you The Confluence, a one-of-a-kind tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) event where multiple groups embark on parallel quests that converge into a single, epic finale. This is more than just a game; it's a social experiment in collaboration and community.

Date: Sunday, September 24

Time: 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM

Location: Super Rad (358  9th St, Lynchburg, VA)

Price: $10 (entry fee to Super Rad)

The Concept: "Yes, And..."

Inspired by the fundamental rule of improv, this event is built on the principle of "yes, and..." We’re here to build something together. When a player has an idea, we say "yes" to it and then add to it, creating a shared narrative that's richer and more exciting than anything we could have created alone. This is an adventure where supporting your fellow players is just as important as your own success.

How It Works

You'll be part of a small group of adventurers, each with a unique mission.

Each group's actions will directly influence the others. You'll need to communicate and cooperate to overcome obstacles. In the final act, all three groups will meet at a central point—the "Confluence"—for a climactic encounter that can only be solved by working together.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to experience TTRPGs in a new way, guided by the principles of collaboration, empathy, and mutual support. It’s perfect for both seasoned players and total beginners.

All you need to bring is a willingness to say "yes, and..." We'll provide everything else, including pre-made characters and dice.
